The History of the 35th Regiment New York Infantry in the Civil War
(also known as the Jefferson County Regiment)The 35th Regiment NY Infantry was organized mainly in Jefferson County (with one Company coming from Cazanovia, NY). This history contains articles from the Jefferson County News of Adams, NY and the New York Daily Reformer of Watertown, NY. These articles were letters written to the newspapers from the men serving in the 35th telling about the day-to-day activities and events that they experienced in the Civil War. The book also contains reminiscences of Colonel Sidney Mendell, a report of the Regiments Re-union in 1887 and a complete roster which which includes the following information where known (dates and places of birth and death; enlistment and discharge; if wounded, when and severity, if later died of wounds; killed in battle; died of disease; and much more).
